Is that a bit of sunshine and blue sky poking out of the overcast mass of grey fluffy cloud? I think it is!! Which can only mean one thing – Summer has officially begun.
We’re super excited as this June we will be jetting off for our first ever summer holiday together – it’s been four years and we’ve done city breaks galore, center parcs and even some big group holidays – but oddly the whole couple holiday things seems to have passed us by.
We’ve booked a brand new all-inclusive in Protaras, Cyprus. The King Jason which has only just opened! It is a bit of a risk for a first holiday but no matter the state of the complex the promise of free pouring drinks and the sun will soothe any holiday woes – not to mention it’s looking pretty spectacular from our social media stalking.
After a week in the sun, exploring the area and eating all the halloumi it’ll be back to work.
Luckily just three weeks later it’s Anders’ birthday and wonderful Dan is taking her to PARIS. We deliberated between Barcelona, Lisbon, Marseille and even Amsterdam as viable birthday options. But we’ve booked the Eurostar the ease of transport trumped every other destination.
We can’t wait to be super cheesy tourists getting that Eiffel Tower picture, that Mona Lisa snap and eating EVERY. SINGLE. CROISSANT. we come into contact with.
We don’t know if it’ll be a ‘hip’ trip to Paris – but we’re currently deciding on hotels so the area may sway our planning all together.
Bank Holiday Weekend
Sadly we both work in Higher Education which means with clearing and the new academic year looming our August is looking like we’re very much stuck in the office. However whisperings of weekend seaside trips, general local outdoorsyness and the promise of a three day weekend to crown the month means our free time will not be spent trapped indoors.
It’s a way off but hopefully we’ll also be able to slip a little staycation in for the Bank Holiday somewhere in the UK. We both quite like the idea of Yorkshire (Dales vs York atm!) but old habits die hard and a return to one of our favourite towns, Whitstable may just be on the cards.
Not to mention the 8 year old nephews birthday trip to Chessington (We can’t wait to get some summer Hygge!) and every food, beer and music festival known to man kind – summer looks like it’s going to be wonderful!
What do you have planned?
